Kevin Durant’s Final Situation Against Heat Is Known

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant was considered questionable heading into tonight vs Miami.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are not expected to have Kevin Durant available tonight when they play host to the Miami Heat according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.

“I would expect KD misses one more game and targets Sunday versus Memphis for his return,” he wrote on X.

Durant was considered questionable entering tonight after missing the prior two games with a right hamstring injury – which was tweaked in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win against the Orlando Magic according to Suns coach Frank Vogel.

Eric Gordon (Right Knee Soreness) and Nassir Little (Left Knee Soreness) were also listed as questionable for Phoenix. Damion Lee remains out after having meniscus surgery prior to training camp.

Durant did non-contact work during Thursday’s practice and has been considered day-to-day for the entire week. Durant wasn’t spotted shooting with the team earlier this morning but was working with Phoenix’s strength and conditioning staff.

His return was expected this weekend by many around the team including Gambadoro, who said he expected Durant back tonight vs Miami or Sunday when they host the Memphis Grizzlies in an earlier report:

Durant is currently averaging 29.9 points per night, which is on track to be his best scoring season since 2013-14 where he saw a career-high 32 points per game. He’s also adding 6.3 rebounds and six assists with 1.1 blocks.

The NBA recently revealed Durant was No. 2 in fan voting for this year’s All-Star game, sitting behind only LeBron James for frontcourt players.

As for Miami, they’ll be without Jimmy Butler due to a foot injury. He’s missed now seven consecutive games for the Heat.

Suns-Heat will tip just past 7:00 PM Arizona time at Footprint Center.
