This L.A. mansion was painted black by Orlando Bloom. For $5 million, you may now own it.

Ten years after the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of Caribbean star Orlando Bloom sold his famed black-painted mansion in the Hollywood Hills region of Los Angeles for around $4 million, the home has come up for sale once more. The ranch-style home, which has undergone complete renovations on the interior but has kept its original, gloomy façade that reportedly irritated neighbors at the time and is now quite stylish, is listed for just under $5 million. Claire and Sam O’Connor of Berkshire Hathaway are the owners of the listing.

According to records, in 2007 Bloom and his ex-wife Miranda Kerr paid nearly $2.8 million for the home. The pair, who were broken into at this exact location about two years later by the immortalized teen Bling Ring cast, sold the house in 2014 to an unidentified buyer. Jeff Martin, the founder of BlueView Real Estate and a former Hulu executive, eventually acquired the property through foreclosure in 2022 for $3.1 million.

Built in the 1940s, the wood-sided, blue-shingle roofed house is nestled behind gates on a double parcel that spans three-quarters of an acre in the Outpost Estates enclave that winds into the mountains above Hollywood. During Martin’s ownership, the property underwent extensive remodeling. It is approximately 3,300 square feet of elegant living space designed by Francesca Grace, with four bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms. High wood-beam ceilings, white oak floors, and exterior doors in every room.

A living area with lots of windows, a beautiful marble fireplace, and a door leading to a patio that’s perfect for entertaining and relaxing outside are some of the room’s attractions. The sky-lit kitchen, complete with bespoke cabinets, an eat-in island, top-notch stainless appliances, and a quaint seating alcove by the fire, is connected to the wainscoted dining room through a corridor.

A primary suite including a wood-fluted accent wall, a built-in window seat, a walk-in closet, and an opulent bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a big rainfall shower can be found elsewhere, along with an office area with another fireplace. Outside, the terraced gardens are highlighted by a spa and waterfall-fed pool enclosed by a brick sundeck, as well as steps that lead to an elevated seating area shaded by a pergola with views of the city lights below.

Mansion Global reports that the property also features a bedroom that feels detached from the rest of the house and may be utilized as an office, fitness center, or recording studio. Additionally, there is a long driveway that ends at a large motorcourt that is surrounded by an attached two-car garage.
