Conor McGregor picks a side as Jake Paul and Mike Perry clash during fight week

Conor McGregor is very much rooting for Mike Perry to cause an upset by beating Jake Paul this weekend.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was originally supposed to face Mike Tyson on July 20, but the ring legend pulled out after suffering a scary mid-flight medical issue.

‘Iron Mike’ is expected to fight Paul this November. In the meantime, Perry has stepped in for a short-notice boxing bout with ‘The Problem Child’, which will take place in Florida on Saturday night.

On Tuesday, footage from their first face-to-face meeting was shared on Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions YouTube channel before going viral.

A particular snippet of Perry’s unusual trash talk quickly spread around social media.

“Your little baby green punches can’t even touch my brainstem, bro,” he said.

“I’m gonna dig through your eyeball and find your memories.”

Paul jokingly replied: “Please, don’t do that!”

McGregor shared quotes and video footage of the awkward exchange online.

‘Notorious’ picked a side with his caption, which read: “Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in the house!”

The Irishman recently acquired an ownership stake in the fledgling bare-knuckle boxing company and has been heavily promoting it ever since.

Perry is undefeated after five bouts in McGregor’s fight league.

‘Platinum’ has secured big wins over Michael ‘Venom’ Page, Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez to win a belt akin to Max Holloway’s BMF UFC title.

The 32-year-old is the inaugural and current BKFC ‘King of Violence’.

However, he hasn’t laced up the gloves for a fight since March 2015.

Ahead of his clash with Paul, footage of Perry being brutally knocked out in his lone boxing bout has resurfaced and fuelled opinions about his chances this weekend.

McGregor will certainly be cheering him on before he returns to training.

The 36-year-old hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in July 2021, and a recent comeback bout against Michael Chandler was derailed by a toe injury.

McGregor vs Chandler is expected to be rebooked for later this year.

Fans are impatiently waiting for UFC CEO Dana White to announce exactly when MMA’s biggest star will make his long-awaited and eagerly anticipated return to the Octagon.
