Video: Bill Belichick Accompanying the ‘Inside the NFL’ Cast; Announcement Trolls Ryan Clark

Bill Belichick is apparently planning to be ubiquitous during his debut season in NFL media.

The former New England Patriots coach agreed to join Inside the NFL for the 2024 season and announced his new gig with a tongue-in-cheek shot at Ryan Clark.

“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise,” Belichick said in a statement. “I’ve always appreciated Inside The NFL’s depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros – Ryan, Chris and Chad – this coming season.”

Belichick already agreed to join ESPN’s Manningcast for the 2024 season and previously co-hosted NFL draft coverage on the Pat McAfee Show. He made his television debut for ESPN at the 2024 NFL draft, offering far more candor than he had at any point during his coaching career.

The Patriots and Belichick parted ways after a 24-season run that saw Belichick establish himself as the greatest coach in NFL history. New England won six Super Bowls and 17 AFC East championships during his tenure, including a stretch of 11 straight division crowns from 2009 to 2019.

Over 17 years from 2003 to 2019, the Patriots failed to win the AFC East just once, and that was a direct result of Tom Brady suffering a torn ACL in Week 1. Brady’s departure after the 2020 season led to an abrupt end to the Patriots’ dominance, as Belichick led New England to just one postseason berth in his final four seasons.

It’s widely expected that Belichick will wind up trying to carve out at least one more run with another NFL team before his career ends. That said, if he winds up thriving in the studio, he could follow a long line of former NFL coaches who decided it’s time to step away for good.

Inside the NFL is the longest-running NFL studio show, beginning back in 1977. The CW picked up rights to the show for the 2023 season.
