Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron once had a Los Angeles condominium that is listed for $2.489 million.
The 48-year-old Theron held the Mediterranean-style home in the Beverly Grove section of the city from 2000 until December 2022, when she sold it for $2.025 million, according to PropertyShark data. In 2000, she purchased the home for slightly over $519,000 using a trust named after her mother.
The current owner was not available for comment, but he works in the entertainment industry with the likes of Ellen Degeneres and Clint Eastwood, according to Jeffrey Billinger of the Hills Premier Realty, who has the listing. The home hit the market around a month ago and had an offer that fell through, listing records show. It was re-listed on Sunday.
“Since purchasing the home, [the owner] has updated the landscaping, lighting and heating system in the bonus area,” Billinger said. “He’s since met someone and they are buying a new home together to start a new life.”
The 1925 Spanish-style house features red clay roof tiles and a white stucco exterior, “creating an inviting facade that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape,” according to the listing. With 1,715 square feet, it has two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.
The living room of the house has large arched entrances, light hardwood floors, and white-washed walls. It also has a fireplace and casement windows that let in natural light, according to the ad.
A formal dining area and a chef’s kitchen with subway tiling, marble countertops, and brilliant white cabinetry are also there, along with a breakfast nook that is currently furnished with an electric blue dining table and chairs.
The entire bathroom is located between the two bedrooms, and the main bedroom has direct access to the garden and pool as well as a powder room with tiny blue hexagon tiles.
The gated property is surrounded by hedgerows and features a two-car garage with a bonus room that may be used for a home cinema, an office, a gym, an art studio, or more living space, as per the listing.
Around the pool are a stone terrace, tall palm trees, and a verdant lawn with space for al fresco eating.
