Jake Paul could make bare-knuckle boxing debut as he discusses rematch with Mike Perry after Mike Tyson fight

Jake Paul has suggested he is willing rematch Mike Perry in either MMA or bare-knuckle boxing.

Paul was set to face heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on July 20, but after his withdrawal, he has selected current bare-knuckle boxer Perry as a replacement opponent.

Paul and Perry could well rematch following their maiden clash

The pair will first meet over eight rounds with traditional boxing rules, but Perry has favourable skills in both MMA from his time in the UFC and in the BKFC (Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship).

In a surprising admission, the ‘Problem Child’ suggested he was open to a change of disciplines following his rescheduled November 15 clash with Tyson.

He said during a face-off with his rival on the MMA Hour: “I think me and Perry in MMA or bare-knuckle is very interesting.

“I’m down, I want to do an MMA fight and I think he is a really good opponent for that.

“And maybe bare-knuckle, I haven’t thought about yet, but I’m down. The thing people don’t know about me is I’m a crazy mother f***er.

“I love to brawl, I love this entire sport. I love to put it all on the line, and I’m down for doing some crazy s**t like bare-knuckle.”

Any appearance in bare-knuckle could be complicated, given Paul’s bitter rival Conor McGregor is a part-owner of BKFC.

Although the UFC superstar could be interested in staging Paul’s event, given his interest in influencer boxing.

But there is clear interest in a two-fight deal, with ex-UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub suggesting exactly as touted.

Perry has a fearsome record in the bare-knuckle ranks winning his five fights, including against current UFC star Michael Page, and former UFC competitors Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold.

Paul has also planned for an MMA debut, and signed with promotion PFL in a bid to set up his maiden appearance in 2025.

For now, his year is taken up with huge boxing events including his clashes with Perry on July 20 and Tyson on November 15.

And the 26-year-old has promised that Perry will be left the victim of a brutal KO to continue his journey in convincing fashion.

He said: “What makes me good at fighting is I don’t like getting punched in the face and I practice not to.

“That’s what I’m going to teach you in the sport of boxing, you little b***h.

“This is not bare-knuckle. Not a bunch of old MMA fighters just running around punching each other bare-knuckle like some f***ing hooligans. I’ll show you a real sport.

“Everyone clip that once I beat his ass and then take this edit and then go to the clip of me knocking him the f*** out.”
