The Malibu home featured in Elvis’ film ‘Live a Little, Love a Little’ is up for sale for $8 million.

The recently updated 1960s house is on the market for the first time in 40 years

Parts of this newly listed Malibu mansion might look familiar to Elvis Presley fans.

The home, nestled on top of Matador Beach in the celebrity-filled California town, featured in the 1968 film “Live a Little, Love a Little” starring the King of Rock and Roll and has hit the market for the first time in 40 years.

The 2,861-square-foot, four-bedroom and four-and-a-half bathroom estate is listed for $7.999 million with Sotheby’s International Realty. Much of the romantic comedy, in which Presley starred opposite Michele Carey, was filmed in and around the house, including a memorable punch to Presley’s face in front of the home’s mid-century staircase—back when it had a red banister.

“This is the best-priced house in Malibu on the water,” said the home’s listing agent, broker Shen Schulz. “There is no house next to it, so it offers unobstructed views of the ocean, sunset, channel islands, etc.”

Built in 1966, the home underwent renovations last year to create a clean contemporary design style, as seen in the white-washed interiors that play up the beachfront views.

The renovation included new hardwood floors, a new kitchen and bathroom, new lighting, fresh paint inside and outside among other updates, Schulz said.

The owners, who inherited the home and never lived in it, currently reside in San Francisco and decided to sell because they don’t visit Southern California often, Schulz said.

The main floor of the home includes the dining room, living room and kitchen all connected by the open floor plan. The kitchen includes all-white cabinets, stainless-steel appliances and an island.

The living room is centered around a fireplace and sliding-glass doors that lead to the deck. The dining area is large enough to hold a table that can sit 10 and also includes sliding glass doors to the deck. There is also an en-suite bedroom on the main floor and an additional bathroom.

“The home is a classic beach house with tall ceilings, big windows and very clean lines,” said Schulz.

The upper level includes the primary bedroom with a private balcony with a sitting area, a massive walk-in closet and more floor-to-ceiling windows framing ocean views. The second floor has two additional en-suite bedrooms.

The home, located on a private gated road, has direct beach access, and is close to some of Malibu’s top restaurants and shops, according to the listing agency.
