Kim Kardashian’s ‘quick fix workout is risky and unhealthy’ – her ‘butt is back’ but she’s ‘not thinner or more toned’

KIM Kardashian has followed up her Met Gala waist-cinching efforts by turbo-charging her workouts using a new 28-day regimen.

A nutritionist has voiced “concern” over the reality star’s latest exercise efforts and compared them to “harmful” yo-yo dieting, but she pointed to one noticeable change in her physique.

Kim, 43, posted videos of herself working out using weights on Instagram on May 11.

The first clip showed the mom of four dressed in a sports top and leggings. She was holding 5-pound dumbbells and doing squats.

In a second clip, the Kardashians star worked out her arms using the same weight while lying on a mat.

“Doing @senada.greca’s 20-minute challenge today,” Kim captioned the video, referring to her trainer’s 28-day challenge.

Kim’s trainer is Senada Greca, who has shared photos of the Skims founder performing routines online.

Nutritionist Rania Batayneh, MPH, warned that no one should think they can achieve a body like Kim’s in such a short time — and with such short workouts.

“People can not expect to get Kim’s body lifting five pounds in a 20-minute workout for 28 days,” Batayneh told The U.S. Sun.

“This would be impossible.

“What may be possible is that the launch of this program was timed to when there was buzz over Kim’s snatched waist at the Met Gala.

“My other concern is what happens beyond the 28 days regarding people’s diet and exercise.

“Senada Greca’s 28-day challenge is akin to risky yo-yo dieting.”

Senada launched the challenge on May 13, promising to be with her followers at every step.

“Workouts change DAILY,” the influencer wrote on her Instagram page.

“All you need is a pair of DUMBBELLS or perform BODYWEIGHT only. ALL levels. Let’s get it done. 20 minutes a day is all you need for this one,” she captioned the post.

What is Senada Greca’s 28-day challenge?

Senada Greca launched the Rise and Shred Challenge on her WeRise app on May 13.

Fans signed up for 28 days of workouts that lasted just 20 minutes.

“Kick start your fitness journey this summer with our first-ever Summer Shred challenge,” she told followers.

“Commit to just 28 days of intense 20-minute follow-along workouts, using The Senada Method, that’s guaranteed to get you results.”

Workouts are designed to do either at home or at the gym. The only equipment needed is dumbbells, though she said people could still get a workout without them.

One sample workout involved ‘Single leg eccentric, B stance concentric squats,” “DB lateral hold knee tucks,” RDLs, planks, reverse lunges, and bear stance rows.

The workout is meant to be done as a circuit of 3 sets of 12 reps each.

Memberships on the app cost $149.99 for three months, $54.99 for three months, or $19.99 for one month.

However, the trainer has shared clips of some of the individual daily workouts for free on Instagram and TikTok.

BIG UP

While Batayneh warned that people shouldn’t expect to look like Kim, she observed that even the reality star doesn’t appear to be transformed all over.

Batayneh referred to a photo of the star in Los Angeles on May 17, wearing roomy black pants and a white crop top. She said she only noticed one difference.

“It shows no difference in shape apart from her glutes and butt looking fuller,” she said. “Kim’s back and her arms do not look defined, and they do not look shredded at all.

Kim’s butt is back, and this is not what most would consider shredding.

“We can see a few more imperfections, standard in natural light but not always forgiving.

“This 28-day challenge workout might make the most significant difference in her glutes versus anywhere else on her body.

“Kim’s butt is back, and this is not what most would consider shredding. “Her butt is not fat, but it is toned and has shape.”

DIET & DEFEAT

But if fans take cues from Kim, thinking they’ll get their own boosted backside, Batayneh warned that they might feel “defeated.”

“Signing up for a program expecting rapid results, only to achieve some progress, then getting off the plan and regaining the weight back can feel defeating,” she said.

“Those are some of the things that, when we look for quick fixes, can be a problem.

“With yo-yo dieting, for example, you don’t eat, do eat, don’t eat, and that is unhealthy.

“Yo-yo dieting can be considered risky or harmful to one’s health.

“Repeatedly losing and regaining weight through cycles of dieting and then returning to previous eating habits can impact metabolism.

Signing up for a challenge and committing is good, but what happens afterward is more important.

“Yo-yo dieting can increase nutritional deficiencies and impact mental well-being.”

Batayneh worried people might “regain weight.”

“Signing up for a challenge and committing is good, but what happens afterward is more important,” she said.

“You can not just do something for four weeks and then jump off.

“The concern is if people go from the couch to this challenge, what is their motivator after the 28 days?

“After completing this program, they must find their maintenance mode.

“This can look like eating a more significant portion, but returning to old habits will result in regaining the weight. “There are different strategies that individuals need to change or tweak to maintain their weight.

“Right now, Senada has a community and posts on Instagram, but what happens in the end?”

Kim has been known to try out different workouts and weight loss measures.

At the 2022 Met Gala, Kim took extreme measures and lost 16 pounds to fit into her Marylin Monroe dress.

“I’m down 21 pounds now. I’m not trying to lose any more weight, but I have more energy than ever,” she said on the Today Show.

“I cut out so much sugar — a lot of junk food I was eating, I didn’t realize, like a lot of fried foods. And I just completely changed my lifestyle,” she added.

Since March, she has trained with Senada and shared Instagram images of grueling two-hour-long weight-lifting sessions.

She said she “wanted to build muscle and be strong.”

And in early May, her waist looked thinner than ever as she squeezed into a restrictive corset by John Galliano for the Met Gala.

DISH UP

Though Kim hasn’t detailed what she’s eating during her 28-day challenge, Senada has been sharing many recipes on Instagram, including a protein banana chocolate bark.

The quick-fix workout Kim is doing is too chancy.

According to Batayneh, Senada’s dishes seemed “healthy.”

“While we are unsure what Kim is eating, we are still curious about her diet,” she said.

“Her trainer has shared recipes, which is beneficial for seeing what Kim might be eating.

“For people who do not eat well or are looking for easy recipes, the ones Kim’s trainer has been promoting are generally good and easy.

“They are very similar to those that I have shared on social and in my book, The One One One Diet.

“At every meal and snack, you need a protein, carb, and fat balance.

“But if a healthy diet does not accompany Senada’s quick-fix workout, there are consequences, such as nutrient deficiency and low energy.

“This is not to mention regaining the weight back.

“Adding more protein in your diet can help bring about more satiety and help you lose weight and gain energy.

“I am not against the recipes Senada is showing, but Kim’s quick-fix workout is too chancy.”
