The singer of “Truth Hurts” posted pictures of herself on the beach in Auckland, New Zealand, wearing a golden bikini to Instagram, along with a self-love statement.

Lizzo has previously expressed her dislike of being called “brave” for accepting her curves and pointing out that there is a “double-standard” in the way that the public views women’s bodies.

“I love you. You are beautiful. You can do anything. (Repeat),” she wrote alongside the new images.

Melissa Jefferson, better known by her stage name Lizzo, gained notoriety earlier this month after personal trainer Jillian Michaels made physical criticisms about her physique. The 31-year-old rapper is appreciative that full-figured women are now given more of a platform and has admitted in interviews that she has had difficulty accepting herself.
