“Legendary Rocker Rod Stewart Elevates Asking Price for His Sprawling LA Estate to Eye-Watering $80 Million”

British singer Sir Rod Stewart has pumped up the price on his longtime Los Angeles mansion to a sizable $80 million.

That’s a $10 million jump from the $70 million price tag he was asking for the European-inspired estate when he first listed it earlier this year.

Stewart, 78, bought the roughly 3-acre estate for $12.08 million in 1991, records show, and tapped architect Richard Landry—who’s known as the “king of the megamansion”—to design the home, which was built in 1993. The “privacy and recent record-breaking sales in Beverly Park validate the price increase,” said listing agent Tomer Fridman of the Fridman Group International.

Indeed, luxury sales in the city jumped in November, with contracts signed on homes asking at least $5 million rising 28% over a year ago, according to data from Douglas Elliman on Thursday.

The yellow-painted property is in the A-lister-laden neighborhood of Beverly Park, which is “the ideal haven for celebs and high-profile residents,” Fridman said. “It really is the perfect retreat as it offers unrivaled solitude and privacy in large, open spaces that suit homeowners who want enough space to live large and opulently without sacrificing privacy.”

Tucked away behind gates and at the end of a long private driveway, the 28,000-square-foot manor “exudes ageless elegance and unmatched opulence,” according to the listing, and has decorative details such as marble floors, columns, wood paneling, fireplaces and intricate moldings.

High-end features throughout the nine-bedroom home include a double-height lobby with a regal double staircase; a great room; a hand-painted bar; a formal library with floor-to-ceiling bookcases; a gourmet kitchen; a formal dining room; cozy sitting areas; a private speakeasy; and a screening room, according to the listing.

Outside, a 4,500-square-foot guest house has additional living space and a full-size gym, and there’s also a pool and spa, plenty of lounging areas, gardens, an outdoor entertainment structure with a barbecue and a fireplace, and a fully lit soccer pitch—ideal for the “Maggie May” singer who, in his youth, wanted to be a professional footballer.
