In white ankle-length jeans, an olive-hued Puzzle tote bag by Loewe, a lemon roll-neck jumper, a black leather belt by The Row and square sunglasses that almost cover her entire face, she makes a strong case for investing in elevated basics.

The whole argument for this way of dressing, which is spearheaded by powerhouse minimalist brands like The Row, Toteme and Phoebe Philo, is that once you have found your wardrobe staples, they are so beautifully crafted that you will wear them for decades.
