Antony has once again stunned Manchester United supporters after revealing a new bold tattoo on his back in a brazen display of confidence, despite his struggles at the club.
The Brazilian has struggled since his £85m transfer from Ajax at the start of Erik ten Hag‘s reign two-years ago, with this season a career low point for the winger after falling down the pecking order.
Recent scenes have seen Antony fume at being asked to play in an emergency left-back role by Ten Hag and his status amongst United supporters has quickly faded.
An unsavoury celebration also saw Antony hush Coventry players at Wembley as United progressed to the FA Cup final following a tense penalty shootout against the Championship side.
Now, the 24-year-old has unveiled a new tattoo with an image of himself plastered across his back, and it hasn’t gone down well with United fans on social media.
Antony has previously worked with tattooist Bruno Lopes on other pieces of body art that decorate his figure, with this appearing to be the biggest inking on the Brazilian.
A video shared by the designer shows Antony designing his tattoo before lying on a massage table as work gets started on the huge image adorned over the entirety of his back.
Antony can be seen smiling as the image of him celebrating what seems to be one of the 11 goals he has scored for the Red Devils across 82 appearances.
Fans were furious with the struggling winger and criticised his latest design at a time when the club are facing a crisis after finishing outside the Champions League places and currently eighth in the Premier League table.
One post reacting to Antony’s tattoo said: ‘He should focus on football instead. Antony you can’t even pass a ball… but your ego is shocking.’
‘Bro should be worried about his 1st touch,’ read another Instagram comment.
Antony was hailed as a player for the future after completing his move to Old Trafford as a late signing from Ajax, but has rarely showed like delivering on his huge pricetag.
Former United legends have also criticised his performances for United and a summer exit could be on the cards for the Brazilian.
