A VANITY Fair film critic has sparked fury after mocking Beyonce’s seven-year-old daughter Blue Ivy for looking like dad Jay Z.

Following the release of new pictures of the schoolgirl, Collins wrote: “I have a feeling the Jay Z face genes are about to really hit Blue Ivy and I feel so sorry for her.”

Lucca replied: “They haven’t already?” to which Collins chortled: “You’re right.

“But she’s lucky — if it happens now she’ll definitely grow out of it.

“Get the ugly duckling phase done early.”

Lucca also wrote: “Or she’ll just get plastic surgery at 16 a la Kylie Jenner and we’ll all have to pretend that she always looked that way.

“I can’t allow myself to feel too sorry for the incredibly rich” before swiftly deleting the message.

The exchange triggered furious backlash from the pair’s followers, with several calling for the companies they work for to fire them for talking about a little girl in this way.

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith was among the shocked Twitter users, writing: “Leave Black Girls Alone In 2020! Black features are beautiful.

“Black skin is beautiful. Leave Us Alone. Keep your hatred to your damn self in this decade.”

Another critic tweeted: “They are not slandering Blue Ivy because she is ‘rich’, they are slandering her because she is VISIBLY Black.”

A third seethed: “It was not a bad joke and I have already sent an email to one of your employers. Hopefully you will be fired soon.”

Collins backtracked following the response, writing: “I’m sorry about the Blue Ivy tweet — bad joke, and black girls in particular deserve better.”

However, his followers slammed the apology as “insincere” and “weak”.

One wrote: “You have a lot of issues to work through, and a lot of people here absolutely do not have to accept this incredibly weak apology.

“Disgusting and it was the first day of a whole new decade.”

Lucca’s response to the backlash was also deemed “flippant”, with the web editor tweeting: “Sorry I was cleaning my apartment while this blew up… Children of famous ought to be off limits, but time and again they haven’t been.

“So I said something petty and have been called ugly, old, and a racist.

“I’m not playing the victim… Sorry that I insulted Beyoncé’s daughter by suggesting that she might get plastic surgery some day, like many children of famous people do.”

She continued: “We’ve been moved to the evil category and there’s no way for us to get out of it. I’m sure there will be plenty of people responding to this saying I’m playing the victim by pointing this out.

“There is nothing that I can say that won’t be written off or projected upon or dunked on, so I choose to say nothing.

7Both writers apologised for their comments – but followers branded them ‘flippant’

“Structural racism is real. It does not matter how much money a POC makes for them to be affected by it.

“I realise that when I make fun of another celeb kid — say, Baron Trump — it’s totally different than when I say something about Blue Ivy.

“I’m truly sorry to anyone who was reminded of past hurt because of my comments.

“I truly believe Blue Ivy will go to the grave without knowing who I am, which is neither here nor there, but on the off chance she sees it – I’m sorry, young lady. You’re gonna go far no matter what.”
