Inside Blue Ivy’s Hollywood life with Beyonce and Jay-Z.

With Beyoncé and Jay-Z as parents, Blue Ivy was born into music royalty when she arrived in January 2012.

“Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful,” the couple wrote in a statement at the time. “We are in heaven.” They went on to write that the little one was “delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of” their lives. (Beyoncé and Jay-Z went on to welcome twins Sir and Rumi in 2017.)

Blue Ivy began following in her parents’ famous footsteps at a young age, as Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2018 that Blue Ivy had been performing “since birth.”

Earlier that year, Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, called Blue Ivy “a star,” telling Us that Blue Ivy shares a lot of traits with her mother and aunt. “[Blue Ivy] reminds me a lot of Beyoncé and Solange [Knowles] when they were that age,” he explained in April 2018. “I can see [them in her].”

Mathew went on to state that he will support Blue Ivy “in anything and everything,” as long as she is passionate about it. “’If it is your passion, then you have a huge chance of being successful. It can’t be what I want or what your mother and father want. It needs to be what you want to do,’” he said. “So if that was [her] passion, absolutely, I would be all for it.”

A Star Is Born!

Blue was born in New York City.

Maternal Instincts

One week after Beyoncé gave birth, her Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams said the multiplatinum singer and her husband had “already settled into their role of being parents, and it’s just awesome to see.”

Touching Moment

“We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support,” the couple wrote in their birth statement.

Proud Papa

Hip-hop heavyweight Jay Z was so overwhelmed by Blue Ivy’s arrival that he immediately recorded “Glory,” a touching song about the couple’s struggle to conceive and the joys of parenthood.

Branding Blue

The pairfiled an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect their daughter’s name. The A-list musicians intend to use Blue Ivy as a potential brand name for a line of baby products, including carriages, diaper bags and baby cosmetics.

Beyonce’s Baby Joy

Beyoncé has fully embraced motherhood, even the less-than-glamorous aspects of it. “I love changing diapers,” she told Anderson Cooper in 2012. “I love it. I love every moment of it, it’s so beautiful. I love it all!”

Deep Blue Lovin’

Beyoncé’s love for her baby girl is as deep as the ocean is blue. The “Love On Top” singer posted this snap of herself exchanging a loving look with baby Blue Ivy, then 11 months, aboard what looks like a boat in December 2012.

Daddy’s Little Girl

The verdict was out about which of her musical parents baby Blue looked more like, but R&B crooner Melanie Fiona said the little gal is the spitting image of Jay Z. “Beyoncé says Blue changes every day and looks just like Jay now,” Fiona told Us.Mommy-and-Me Playdate
