Barcelona are reportedly set to take legal action against investment firm Libero after the financiers failed to pay the club £34.6million (€40m) for the purchase of a stake in their digital platform Barca Vision.
Libero had announced back in August that they would be buying a 9.8 percent share of Bridgeburg Invest S.L. Barcelona, the holding company for Barca Vision.
But reports from EFE claim that Barcelona have not been paid by the financiers and state that the LaLiga giants ‘have decided to sue Libero’ for the failed payment.
EFE also claim that the Catalan club had extended Libero’s deadline to pay them until December 31.
That payment has reportedly not been made and while they intend to take legal action, they are also reportedly looking for another investor to purchase the 9.8 percent stake in Barca Vision.

Barca vision is a new content platform that was launched by the club in the summer of 2023 and is a digital audio visiual platform that the club say is set to ‘connect fans in exciting new ways.’
Libero, meanwhile, is an investment firm that are registered on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
They specialise in providing a consultancy services to professional football clubs over their finances.
Barcelona initially sold 49 percent of the digital platform to Orpheus Media and Socios.com for £173m (€200m) earlier in 2023.
Barca Vision was established earlier this year and the Catalan outfit claim the platform is set to bring fans closer to the club
Libero and an investment firm, NIPA, had agreed a deal to repurchase a 29 percent share from Orpheus Media and Socios.com, leaving them with 9.75 percent each, while Barcelona would retain their 51 percent majority stake.
Barcelona had hoped to raise some capital from the transactions to help the cash-strapped club sign new players in the upcoming transfer window.
With midfielder Gavi now out of action for an extended period, Xavi’s side will need to bolster their options in the centre of the park as they look to bounce back from their poor recent run of form.
The club are also currently in the process of completing a £1.25billion renovation to the the Nou Camp.
