UFC star Cody Durden risks wrath of Dana White by leaking date for Conor Conor McGregor’s fight with Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor’s return date has been leaked by a UFC fighter, who claims to be competing on his undercard.

On Sunday, flyweight contender Cody Durden excitedly took to social media to announce he is set to fight on one of the UFC’s biggest cards of the year.

Durden claims he’s fighting on McGregor’s comeback card in June

“What’s up fight fans? I’m back in the Octagon June 29 versus Carlos Hernandez,” he said in a now-viral video. “UFC 303. Michael Chandler versus ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor. Let’s go, baby!”

Durden has just shy of 20,000 followers on X – formerly known as Twitter – but it didn’t take long for MMA fans to flood his comment section after the announcement.

Unfortunately for the 32-year-old, most of them weren’t interested in his fight and just wanted to point out he’d inadvertently announced McGregor vs Chandler before the UFC.

One person wrote: “Man just leaked Chandler v McGregor too? Lol.”

Another added: “So UFC 303 is Conor vs Mike ok awesome should be a great card.”

A third person said: “Cody leaking the main event.”

Someone else joked: “Bro delete this before you get cut from the UFC. That one’s free – any more social media advice is gonna cost you $55/ hourly.”

Durden refused to delete the clip and defended himself by claiming McGregor had already revealed his return date to the world.

“Bro I’m just repeating what Conor said in multiple videos,” he insisted.

McGregor kicked off 2024 by announcing he will return on June 29.

However, UFC CEO Dana White has repeatedly said that is not the case and more recently the Irishman has been coy about exactly when he will fight again.

Last week, Chandler claimed his clash with McGregor is official but refused to reveal when it will take place as he wanted to let the UFC make the big announcement.

Durden appears to have accidentally ruined whatever the premier MMA promotion had planned to confirm McGregor’s comeback after three years on the sidelines.

Hopefully, he’ll still get the opportunity to fight at UFC 303 in June.
