Atletico Madrid fans chant racist insults at Vinicius Jr. before Inter Milan match

Earlier this week, we reported how a set of Barcelona fans chanted insults against Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. before their UEFA Champions League game against Napoli.

Only a day later, a section of Atletico Madrid supporters were seen chanting racist insults directed towards the Brazilian winger before their match against Inter Milan.

Los Rojiblancos played the Serie A giants at the Civitas Metropolitano in the UCL Round of 16 second leg last night.

Prior to the game kicking off, a section of fans were seen shouting Ale ale ale, Vinicius Chi**anzee’ an hour before the match.

This is not the first time that a section of the Atletico Madrid supporters have subjected Vinicius to racist abuse.

In fact, the Brazil winger faces abuse at an alarmingly regular rate from some opposition fans, yet there continues to be a lack of concrete action from the concerned authorities.

Last year, some Atletico ultras hung an effigy of the Brazilian superstar off the bridge ahead of the Madrid derby. Ultimately, four people were charged for the incident in December, months after the incident had taken place.

More recently, chants of ‘Vinicius you are a monkey‘ were heard as fans entered Atletico’s Metropolitano stadium on ahead of the Copa del Rey Round-of-16 clash against Real Madrid.

It remains to be seen if Atletico Madrid put out any statement or take any action against those involved in this shameful behaviour.
