Scarlett Johansson on the cover of French Vanity Fair’s first issue.

Her life is split between France and America, so it’s no wonder Vanity Fair picked Scarlett Johansson as the cover star of their first ever French edition.

According to Woman’s Wear Daily, the Avengers Assemble actress has been dubbed the ‘ideal transatlantic muse’ by Michel Denisot, editorial director of the new magazine, therefore making her the only choice to help the new publication stand out on the news racks.

In the July issue of French Vanity Fair, the Tony-award winning actress is profiled by Ingrid Sischy and photographed by Mark Seliger.

Speaking of Johansson at a press conference, Michel Denisot said: ‘She has every quality imaginable – the elegance, beauty, wit and impertinence that would make her a perfectly decent Parisian if she decides to move permanently into the apartment she has bought in Paris not far from here.’

The actress recently bought an apartment in Paris, after she began dating creative agency manager Romain Dauriac.

Superhero: Scarlett has been filmnig the new Captain America movie with Chris Evans in Cleveland

The 28-year-old actress confirmed her romance with the 30-year-old Frenchman in the May issue of Marie Claire magazine, as she discussed a night out she had enjoyed at Manhattan hotspot: ‘The next day my boyfriend and I were saying, “We were the best dancers in the whole world last night!

‘[We were] completely delusional. I’m sure we were absolutely, like, ridiculous together.’

Romain is the former editor of French magazine Clark, which specialised in underground urban art and the couple both share a friendship with French tattoo artist Fuzi.

This month Scarlett has been filming scenes with Chris Evans for the second installment of Captain America.

Introduced as Black Widow originally in Iron Man 2, the petite star donned her red wig again for Avengers Assemble last year and will now team up with Steve Rogers again for the new Marvel action flick.

But it looks as though things could be steaming up for the two superheroes, as they passionately kiss during one scene shot in Cleveland, as they descend an escalator.

But knowing the Black Widow, this may all be a ruse, to trick the bad guys they are tracking, or those tracking them.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be out in the US and UK on April 42014.

The first issue of French Vanity Fair hits newsstands on Wednesday.
