Director Stephen Sommers provides an update on Brendan Fraser’s much anticipated The Mummy 4. In Sommers’ 1999 action-adventure blockbuster revival of the Universal Classic Monsters franchise, Fraser portrayed a valiant hero. She later reprised her role in Sommers’ 2001 follow-up, The Mummy Returns. After the second movie in the series, Sommers left, but Fraser returned for the 2008 Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which Rob Cohen directed.
Fraser has indeed indicated that he’s game to return for a long-delayed fourth Mummy franchise entry, but though Sommers seems keen to work with Fraser again, he indicates that he’s unaware of any studio interest in making Mummy 4 happen.
