Ex-UFC double-champion Conor McGregor has branded a current UFC champion as ‘woeful’ after watching footage of their boxing training.
‘The Notorious’ enjoys pseudo-retirement after withdrawing from UFC 303 with an injured toe in 2024. Since then, McGregor has had a botched fight plan with Logan Paul. He still faces negative fan sentiment from his Irish High Court result in November and spitting in a fan’s face over an idle remark in early February 2025.
Keeping in the news cycle, McGregor now targets welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. ‘Remember The Name’ catches a lot of flack for his finishing rate, and McGregor is the latest to jump on the trend.
‘Woeful’ Conor McGregor bashes Belal Muhammad’s boxing skills
In a since-deleted comment on X, McGregor poked fun at footage of Muhammad training his boxing skills. Muhammad fights Jack Della Maddalena in the main event of UFC 315.
“The UFC welterweight champion ahah holy good lord #woeful #abysmal,” McGregor wrote.
24-3 Muhammad has a knockout rate of 21 percent, or five knockouts in 24 victories. He has a 20 percent finishing rate inside the UFC, with one TKO and zero career knockdowns.
On the other hand, his opponent at UFC 315, Della Maddalena, has finished all but three fights in 17 career wins, 12 by knockout. ‘JDM’ has an undefeated 7-0 UFC record with four knockouts. His most recent victory was a third-round knockout over Gilbert Burns at UFC 299.
Maddalena was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards at UFC London before Shavkat Rakhmonov pulled out of his fight with Muhammad at UFC 315.
