In 2014, in just his second year in the NFL, Russell Wilson was the quarterback who led the Seattle Seahawks to a 43-8 thrashing of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, under the tutelage of Pete Carroll.Carroll coached the Seahawks for 14 seasons and left the team in January 2024, and with his return to the NFL, a reunion with Wilson could be in the works, who according to Rapoport on NFL GameDay, are still good friends.
“I understand that Russell Wilson wanted to play for the Raiders last year, which didn’t happen. It’s possible that union will be discussed,” Rapoport said, while on his X account he confirmed that “they have stuck together, and Wilson is a solid option in Las Vegas.”
Russell Wilson was the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, where he had a good start with a 6-1 record replacing Justin Fields, but in Week 7 he suffered a calf injury and, in the end, the Steelers made the playoffs with a 10-7 record, but were eliminated in the Wild Card by losing 28-14 to the Baltimore Ravens.
