Paul “Triple H” Levesque was the big news of the week when his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame 2025 was announced during WrestleMania 41 weekend .
Triple H was officially announced as the first member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025 after the surprise announcement he received at WWE HQ by legends Shawn Michaels & The Undertaker , as well as his wife, Stephanie McMahon . Usually, “The Game” has words for any situation, but on this occasion, he could do nothing but thank for such recognition.
Thanks to this, “The King of Kings” will join the exclusive group of figures who have been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame on two or more occasions , which is made up of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman and Barry Windham. Let us remember that Triple H was a member of the 2019 Class, being inducted alongside D-Generation X ; on this occasion, it is the turn to recognize his career on an individual level.
From his days as a swaggering Greenwich, Connecticut brat to his era-defining run as co-founder of D-Generation X , from shepherding future stars like Randy Orton and Batista to WWE greatness on Evolution , to leading WWE into a New Era on Netflix with his unmatched creative vision, Triple H has one of the most decorated resumes in the industry . It’s hard to sum it up in a text that doesn’t bore the reader, but here at Wrestling World , we’re going to try to do it justice by mentioning the biggest moments of his career.
Beginnings as Hunter Hearst Helmsley
Paul Levesque made his professional wrestling debut in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the name Terror Risin’, and was in the promotion from 1994-95 before making the jump to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) , now to be known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley , “a blue-blooded wrestler” from Connecticut who displayed his manners and formal attire. His first match was against Buck Zumhoff on April 29, 1995, winning in just a couple of minutes.
Helmsley had left WCW because they were not in favor of supporting his solo career, and despite a great winning streak upon his arrival in the WWF, his career stagnated. Still, by 1996, he was able to compete in his first WrestleMania (XII) , in a match that he lost to the legendary The Ultimate Warrior. Hunter was scheduled to win the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, but an incident when he “broke character” at Madison Square Garden caused him to be punished. At that time, Scott Hall & Diesel, who had signed with WCW, “buried kayfabe” when Hall hugged Shawn Michaels, while Helmsley did the same with Diesel; Hunter dedicated himself to overcoming the punishment, while Michaels got off scot-free by being the star of the moment.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley , with Mr. Perfect as his manager, won his first championship, the Intercontinental Title, defeating Marc Mero at WWF RAW (October 21, 1996), to begin a reign that lasted 115 days, until he fell to Rocky Maivia in February of the following year. Finally, Helsmley was able to conquer the King of the Ring tournament in 1997 with the help of his new ally, Chyna, defeating Mankind in the final. These two achievements would mark his career for life, to finally form, together with Shawn Michaels, Rick Rude & Chyna, the group known as D-Generation X , abandoning his “blue blood” character, to be known from now on as Triple H. The rest, is one of the greatest stories ever told.
