Jake Paul meets with Gervonta Davis next month in a blockbuster clash.
Paul and Davis are fighting live on Netflix from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer’s promotional company, MVP, initially announced that Paul would be fighting Davis in Atlanta, Georgia.
Although after the chairman of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission (GAEC), Rick Thompson, publicly voiced his concerns about the match-up, they opted to relocate.
Now, they will lace up their gloves further east for November 14.
Ahead of his clash with one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, the ‘Problem Child’ has amassed a professional record of 12-1.
Davis, on the other hand, has had a decorated 30-0-1 career and is the reigning WBA lightweight champion(135lbs).
Paul vs Davis: Fight rules
Due to their fight not being professionally sanctioned, it will instead be held as an exhibition.
It will be contested at a catchweight of 195lbs, in order to slightly lessen the drastic gap on the scales between Paul and Davis.
Their colossal size difference means that there will also be an extra stipulation in place to protect both men in the ring next month.
They will be fighting in 12oz gloves, which are usually worn in training as a means to reduce the risk of injury.
Typically, boxers from flyweight up to welterweight fight in 8oz while anyone above super welterweight wears 10ozs.
Under the standard exhibition format, knockouts are avoided but when Paul and Davis meet that rule won’t be adhered to.
While adjustments have been made elsewhere for their safety, the rules will generally remain aligned with a professional bout when they share the ring.
Paul has also teased that a large monetary bonus is on offer, should either man stop the action before the final bell.
The result won’t appear on either man’s record, but three judges will be scoring the action to name a winner if the fight goes the distance.
In a first for the sport, one of the official judges will be AI, a concept that Turki Alalshikh has been trialling as part of Riyadh Season shows over the last year.
Paul vs Davis will be the first fight where the scores generated by the AI judge will hold any weight in the final ruling.
Paul vs Davis: What has been said?
Just weeks out from his fight with Davis, Paul has candidly revealed his apprehension as he prepares to return to the ring.
He said: “I’m feeling good. This is definitely the toughest test.
“I think there’s a lot of things out there about the size, but I think people forget that Tank is a top ten pound-for-pound fighter.
“He’s got power in both hands, and skill wise and technique wise he’s been doing this for so long.
“Actually, internally I’m the most scared going into a fight that I’ve actually ever been.
“I know how good these people are that I’m sparring and being able to see how good they are, knowing how good Tank is, it’s actually going to be my toughest test to date.”
