Pro Golfer Louis Oosthuizen Sells Florida Home for $5.5 Million

Pro golfer Louis Oosthuizen has sold his golf course home in Florida for $5.5 million, according to property records filed Monday.

The seven-bedroom house is within Old Palm Golf Club, a high-end golf community complete with an 18-hole course in Palm Beach Gardens.

Not only is the home within one golf club, but it’s a stone’s throw—or a swing—from several others, including the PGA National Resort and Spa.

Mr. Oosthuizen, 37, bought the land in 2013 for $850,000 using a trust, property records show, and built the home in 2014.

The contemporary spread spans more than 10,000 square feet and has high ceilings, wooden beams and a private guest wing, according to the listing with Michael Gazlay, of K2 Realty. Mr. Gazlay declined to comment on the transaction.

There is also a master suite with lake views, an entertainment space with a golf simulator and bar, wine storage and a games room. Outside, on more than an acre of land, is a pool and spa, and putting areas.

Mr. Oosthuizen, 37, first tried to part with the home in 2016 for $7.5 million and it had been on and off the market since. Most recently, it had been asking $5.89 million, according to listing records.

The home was snapped up by an anonymous limited liability company, property records show.

The South African golfer reached fourth in the World Golf Rankings in 2013. He won the 2010 Open Championship and placed as runner-up in the 2012 Masters Tournament, the 2015 U.S. Open and the 2017 PGA Championship. He could not be reached for comment.

The Real Deal first reported the sale.
