Lewis Hamilton has said he will not let “those who are not necessarily being helpful stop me from trying” before heading to the Brazilian Grand Prix.
“I really, really don’t know what to expect moving forward, but I’ll keep trying.”
The seven-time world champion looked to have finally turned a corner in 2025 with Ferrari, with his debut campaign with the Scuderia drawing to a close without a Grand Prix podium to his name.
However, qualifying third at the Mexico City Grand Prix highlighted an improvement in both the Brit’s form, along with the Italian team.
That could not be translated into Sunday’s Grand Prix after a ten-second time penalty that Hamilton described as “pretty nuts” derailed any chance of earning his first Grand Prix podium for Ferrari.

“Just slowly, slowly, collectively getting a bit better,” was Hamilton’s response when asked if anything else occurred in Mexico that helped the 40-year-old improve.
“I really, really don’t know what to expect moving forward, but I’ll keep trying,” continued the Brit as he looked towards the Brazilian Grand Prix.
“I’ll get up tomorrow and train, and try and prepare. I can’t let those who are not necessarily being helpful stop me from trying.”
Hamilton pressed FIA stewards in Mexico
After the Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Hamilton’s team radio revealed that he had pushed the FIA stewards in Mexico to punish “all the other cars that cheated”.
The Ferrari driver may have been the only one to receive a penalty from the stewards, but 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve believes that the penalty that was handed to the Brit was “deserved”.
There was also some criticism given to Ferrari themselves for their handling of the penalty situation during the race, with Karun Chandhok saying the comments from Riccardo Adami, Hamilton’s race engineer, were “poor communication”.
