Jake Paul insists Tommy Fury is pricing himself out of their much-anticipated rematch because he is ‘scared’.
A split decision loss to Fury in February 2023 remains the sole blemish on Paul’s 12-1 professional record.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer has been chomping at the bit to exact his revenge, but nothing has come to fruition as of yet.
Earlier this year, Paul publicly offered Fury $4million (£3m) to renew their hostilities in the United States, or $3million (£2.3m) if the sequel takes place elsewhere.
Fury rejected the terms, although the two parties have since touched base again.
Tommy’s father and trainer, John, revealed on Saturday night that they had provided Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions with a purse demand for a second fight.
“Well, we are trying to do what we can. We are looking at the Jake Paul rematch,” Fury Sr told iFL TV.
“We are trying to dot a few I’s and cross a few T’s.
“I have given them a number, let’s see if they can meet it.
“If they don’t meet the number… f*** off.”
How much money is Tommy Fury demanding to fight Jake Paul?
According to Paul, that number is $15m (£11.2m).
“You blundering fool,” he wrote in response to a clip of Fury Sr’s interview.
“Just say Tommy is scared. No one is giving Tommy $15million. So you F off.”
Fury had been offered a more sizable sum of $8m (£6.3m) to rematch Paul last year when Netflix expressed interest in broadcasting the second fight on their platform.
The initial plan was for the pair to meet in November 2024, but when Fury rejected the approach, 58-year-old Mike Tyson received the call.
Taking to social media last year, ‘The Problem Child’ wrote: “Offered Fury $8m to fight on Netflix.
“He turned it down and now fighting an MMA fighter… Now tell me who is running?
“Stupid daddy controlled kid, protected from the inevitable.”
Fury later agreed to a Misfits Boxing bout with former UFC title challenger Darren Till in January.
However, he subsequently pulled out of the crossover clash after the MMA star threatened to bend the rules and kick him in the head.
Paul is set to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in a bizarre exhibition bout on November 14.
Anthony Joshua and Fury sit at the top of his hitlist for his following fight.
